Far South Coast Walk Against Warming

Sunday 15 Aug 10:30
to 12:00
Tanja Forest near Mogareeka
Cnr Goat's Knob Road and the main Tathra - Bermagui Rd

The walk will start and end at the corner of Goat's Knob Road and the main Tathra - Bermagui Rd - with the walk taking place along the forest road.

Spokesperson for the organisers, Ms Harriett Swift says that the Tanja Forest is scheduled for logging in a few weeks time and it has been chosen as the venue to highlight the role that native forests could play in reducing Australia's greenhouse gas emissions.

Ms Swift says that the local walk will be one of scores of similar walks around Australia that will take place that day. "This year's walk has been brought forward to August 15th to ensure that the climate change issue has a higher profile during the election campaign. The two major parties have had practically nothing to say on this critical issue and it is timely to remind them that people do care about the future of the planet."

Carpooling is recommended, but there is some parking available along the main roadside and at the entrance to Goat's Knob Road and the Nelson Beach Road.
